Reminiscing
I was re-reading one of my favorite books (a series actually)
Mission Earth by L. Ron Hubbard, recently, and was struck by the fact that it was 20 years ago that I first read this! My kids, who are both beautiful, independant young women, with their own thriving careers, were little children at that time. I was still living in Sydney, and life was a lot different then from how it is now.
But one thing that remained the same was my enjoyment of
Mission Earth. It's very funny, in a dark way, and it lays bare what is going on on planet Earth. Some things have changed (the Soviet Union is long gone now), but many things stay the same - or have simply worsened (
the environment, drug addiction).
Fortunately, as a Scientologist I can keep my head above water, knowing I have the tools to handle the factors Mr. Hubbard described in this series of 10 science fiction novels.
I recommend
Mission Earth as a great read.
And another great book that was just recently re-released by Galaxy Press is
To the Stars, which I highly recommend as well!
